completely avoid common sense when the automated machinery tells
you such and such is reality. Some guy in Malaysia gets a phone
bill for over 200
trillion dollars and they sicced the collection agency on him
to get him to pay up!
HAHAHAHAHAHA! "The computer said so! It is all knowing and
powerful! Pay up!"
It's the .01 on the end of the bill that I like. So kind of them to be exact, instead of rounding the number off and then having to send him another bill for the last 0.01 ringgit later when the error is discovered...
This reminds me of an incident I had at a hardware store. I was checking out with a few items, and the inexperienced cashier hit the total button and then noticed that she missed an item. She then scanned it and apparently the register interpreted the barcode number as the amount of money I paid. The end result was that the register said she owed me about $2,000,000,000 in change. I wish they would have just believed the computer in that case.
