California AB 2097 implements the people's right to know how their votes are counted - rather than to have the details cloaked with DMCA and trade-secret law applying to present proprietary voting software. The bill is sponsored by Open Voting Consortium, and carried by California Assembly Member Jackie Goldberg (D-Los Angeles). It will be heard on April 18th in the Assembly Elections Committee (1:30 pm, room 444, Capitol Building, Sacramento, California).

Open Voting Consortium needs your help now. Californians should read OpenVotingConsortium's information on the bill and use the link from that page to communicate with the state committee members.

If we don't get more congressional support, the bill won't go anywhere. You can make a difference.

They were probably too busy deciding which cold fusion article to post on the front page. Also, I think that was probably right around the time when they were devoting massive editorial effort to the article about military research on force fields for tanks.
