HP has developed a complete small chip, called "Memory
Spot", with wireless modem, processor and memory (half a
meg they claim) that is tiny and eventually can be cheap enough
to embed in important documents, etc. Sort of where RFID is now
but better.
..."The chip could be used to ensure drugs
have not been counterfeited, on patient wristbands in hospitals
or to add sounds or video to postcards, said HP."..more
there
ed: I searched around HP and HP labs but wasn't able to find
any other info on this. Perhaps someone else has better
skills.....
