An amazing series of interconnected underground temples/grottoes built starting with one man and visions he had as a child, now carried on by the group around him. They worked in secret for years digging and building, but were finally found out and now it is open for all to see.
.."Retrospective permission was eventually granted and today the 'Damanhurians' even have their own university, schools, organic supermarkets, vineyards, farms, bakeries and award-winning eco homes."..more there, google has a lot more hits on these folks. Probably a lot more new agey than not, but just the scale and beauty is quite impressive.
