The University of Westminster's Centre
for Parallel Computing has opened up a 250-cpu grid for
use by the general public to render projects created in the open
source 3d creation program, Blender.
ed: I was hoping to have an example of Blender's advanced
features to post (cloth simulation/softbody hair particle system)
that is way to much for my poor little laptop but they seem to be
having growing pains as the file I've been trying to get
rendered has been unsuccessful so far and it also looks like they
also don't have the physics features enabled. Oh well,
there's always the free to download Big Buck
Bunny video that shows how far Blender has come over the
years...not that anything I could create is up to that caliber,
mind you.
