- The largest of its kind solar PV installation project was announced by SoCal Edison today. They plan on using a lot of commercial building rooftops to install 250 megawatts potential of solar across their service region, to help meet peak daytime power requirements. They say the economies of scale with this project, at a projected one megawatt per week installed, will allow them to cut in half the normal price of the technology.
- .."“This project will turn two square miles of unused commercial rooftops into advanced solar generating stations,” said John E. Bryson, Edison International chairman and CEO. “We hope to have the first solar rooftops in service by August. The sunlight power will be available to meet our largest challenge – peak load demands on the hottest days.”"...more, someone noticed it is rather sunny most of the time, there
