It is being reported that the top recording industry association lawyer is being appointed to a judgeship in Colorado.

The views expressed by attorneys are not always theirs. She or he represents a client. In this case, we're allowing a particularly odious client to taint our view of who this person is. Would you think any less of the lawyer who represented Charles Manson?
For all we know, he's seen the tricks that lawyers and their clients play, and he'd see right through them. He might be a pretty good judge.
And then again, maybe his is an RIAA patsy. If nothing else, one could legitimately object to his judging any RIAA law suits on the grounds that he has background information on the plaintiff. So I'm not sure what there is to be concerned about...
