Malicious software has grown globally to be of such a size and
persistence that it
risks serious harm to the internet economy according to a new
report, with upwards of one in four desktops just in the US being
infected and potentially being part of botnets.
.."Communities involved in fighting malware "offer
essentially a fragmented local response to a global threat,"
says the report, which urges international cooperation to combat
the danger." You can access the full report in PDF from
the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development at

Why do these types of articles never, ever mention Windows?
Why don't they specify Windows PCs instead of just saying
"PCs"? I didn't read the PDF, so maybe it
mentions Windows there. But it seems like folks try to be
very very careful never to mention Windows and botnets together
on the same page.
It's funny how missing information can create so much
misinformation.
